Stationhouse Nursery is located at Station Road in Portishead, North Somerset. The nursery is situated near the old Portishead Railway Station site, making it easily recognisable.
The nursery is easily accessible via several commuter links. By car, it is reachable from Bristol via the A369 or the M5 (junction 19), and from Weston-super-Mare via the M5. Regular bus services (X3 and X4) connect Bristol to Portishead, with local stops nearby. Cycling routes and local walking paths also provide good connectivity for nearby residents, making it convenient for both local and commuting families.
Founded in 2013, Stationhouse provides Outstanding care and education for children from 3 months to 5 years old in an engaging and nurturing environment. Sister to Lakehouse Nursery, this site was specifically chosen for the large gardens and proximity to the Marina, Library, local shops, and Lake Grounds which are all within walking distance. We are active members of our community, supporting and working with local charities including Portishead in Bloom.
Every child is wonderfully unique, and we are so fortunate to be able to watch them grow, learn and develop each and every day. We strive to ensure that we provide the best environment for children to feel safe, secure, settled and most importantly, happy!
At Stationhouse we have 5 engaging playrooms that are full of wonderful and unusual resources for the children to explore. A large proportion of time is spent outside, whatever the weather, in one of our 6 enclosed gardens. We grow fruit and vegetables in our Meadow, the children develop their climbing skills on our climbing cube and make mud pies in our very own mud kitchen!
We provide all meals, snacks, nappies, creams and sun creams whilst your child is at nursery. We only ask that you bring a couple of changes of clothes (nothing you feel too precious about- learning is often messy work!)
We will provide nappies, wipes and nappy cream.
We have on-site parking available for easy access and convenience.
We provide healthy meals and snacks as well as fresh water and milk. Our menus are seasonal and are certified by a children’s dietician ensuring the right balance of ingredients for the children. All dietary requirements are catered for by our professional chefs.
Our outdoor space offers an environment to explore and develop and provides a place where imagination comes to life.
We provide fun and interactive extra-curricular activities that the children will enjoy and love, this can include Bilingual Beats, which is our ‘Spanish through music’ lesson, French with The Little Language Academy, Playball Sports and more.
Nursery fees are dependent on the age of your child and your specific childcare requirements. Funding options are available, including the government’s 15 and 30 hours funded childcare, and we also accept the Government Tax Free Childcare Scheme and childcare vouchers.

Hi, I’m Jade and I was part of the start up team at Stationhouse in 2013. I started my early years career in 2005 after learning I had a real passion for helping children to achieve and thrive in everything they do. After gaining my level 3 in Early Years and a few years of working in nurseries, I travelled to Mozambique, Africa to fulfil my passion of helping children and adults who don’t have access to the greatest of life opportunities.
I worked in an orphanage, preschool and taught young adults English. In 2017 I graduated from Bath Spa University with a 2:1 in Early Years Education. I am super passionate about my job role here at nursery and believe that if the staff are happy and treated well, the children will become confident, curious and resilient learners. Our motto here is “it’s our nature to nurture” and that is at the core of everything we do.

Hi! I’m Silvia and I joined Stationhouse family in January 2003 and I fell in love with it.
I am originally from Italy and spent many years volunteering with children and working as a journalist. whilst gaining a degree in Communication and Modern Languages.
I moved to England in 2018 and started working as a nursery assistant. I completed my Level 3 qualification in childcare and after a year I became Deputy Room Leader of their preschool. I’m so passionate about working with children and I always want to provide them all with the best quality care and education.
